The Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Genetics with a research focus on the roles of DNA repetitive (tandem and interspersed repeats) sequence elements in neurological and neuromuscular disease. The Department has begun a major expansion of the faculty as part of a 5-year strategic plan. We seek outstanding creative investigators in any area of genetics, including but not limited to gene expression and regulation, functional genomics and systems biology, developmental genetics, immunogenetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, evolutionary genetics, and other related fields whose research will synergize with and further strengthen research in both MGM and the CNG.
The Department has active research programs in mammalian (human, mouse), Drosophila, viral, bacterial, and cancer genetics, together with expertise in gene discovery, genome and RNA editing, transcriptional and co/post-transcriptional regulation, disease pathomechanisms, RNA biochemistry, structural biology, protein biochemistry, and computational biology. The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is seeking a research-practitioner with experience in collegiate mental health who thrives in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will serve as CWC’s Assistant Director for Research & Assessment/Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The Assistant Director for Research & Assessment is responsible for the management of research, assessment, data collection, data analysis, report writing, and data dissemination/publication activities of the CWC.
In addition to these specific administrative duties, the job duties include:

POSITION SUMMARY
Be the “face” of MSU Extension (MSUE) in Genesee County in a way that allows clientele, and potential clientele, to quickly and easily access Extension system information. Direct clientele to appropriate information and resources (e.g., MSUE staff, MSUE Bookstore, websites, etc.) and assist with the logistics and promotion of MSUE educational events in the county. Support MSU Extension staff in a manner consistent with delivery of Extension programs and events, and work in a manner that fosters a welcoming and collaborative environment for visitors and staff.
Serving as the first point of contact in the county office, you will research answers for clients, type, enter data, answer the telephone, and file departmental documents in order to provide clerical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. You will provide general office related assistance, including dissemination of information on behalf of the District Director, connecting staff to IT support, responding to inquiries and directing phone calls to appropriate MSUE staff using MSUE Expert Search, Ask Extension, and other appropriate resources. You will receive training to become an I-9 verifier and will meet with new hires to complete their I-9s.
You will prepare accessible promotional/marketing materials for MSU Extension programs and distribute, as requested, including, but not limited to newspapers and broadcast media, Chambers of Commerce, community calendars, program wall, emails/community organizations list, social media, and flyer distribution. You will assist in gathering and compiling data for periodic reports as well as generate associated graphics, as needed. You will also manage local social media accounts and suggest ways to increase reach and engagement with existing and new audiences. You may also assist with logistics related to MSU Extension programs, such as assisting with registering clients for programs, developing program/event registration lists, and producing sign-in sheets. Additionally, you will assist with 4-H Online records, 4-H enrollment, club records, 4-H communications, and MSU Extension Volunteer Selection Process (VSP).
In this role, you will collaborate, plan, and participate in office staff meetings, while fostering an environment that encourages a broad range of perspectives and experiences to be shared and openness to new and different ideas. You will also be expected to maintain and grow a directory of contacts. You will be responsible for operating all office equipment and will be supported to maintain and update computer skills and technical knowledge for office and programmatic software applications. You will also collect, account for, and deposit money for services and/or materials provided by the office as well as learn and manage the Lightspeed system for county offices, including ringing of sales, running, and submitting monthly financial reports and maintenance of Lightspeed and credit card machines. Assistant Director, Physical Sciences
Position Summary
The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising the team of Technology Managers in the physical sciences disciplines, including mentoring and advising on daily tech transfer matters. Additional office-wide leadership aspects include agreement management, input on strategies, and being lead on special programs. This position will also serve as a Technology Manager with their own portfolio, which focuses on advancing technologies developed by MSU research activities to commercial use, responsible stewardship and commercialization of MSU intellectual property by supporting researchers, complying with the Bayh-Dole Act, and advancing technologies for societal benefit. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, working knowledge of intellectual property management procedures, time management, a commitment to intellectual property protection, and an ability to advise and mentor to junior and senior level licensing personnel. The level of responsibility in this role is high and requires multi-tasking to manage complex portfolios with many projects, and the ability to work independently and in small to large groups.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office presence a minimum of 3.5 days per week, and requires occasional off-site travel for conferences, stakeholder events, and other related activities. This position reports to the Executive Director of MSU Technologies. Candidates must have the capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control law.
• Education: Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program, preferably in a life science, engineering, business, or legal field.• Experience: Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in technology transfer, intellectual property licensing, or a related field, including prior experience supervising or leading professional staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:• Supervisory – 15%o Provide mentoring, guidance and direction to physical science Technology Managers in their day-to-day operations and tasks, including faculty engagement, technology assessment and creating marketing and licensing strategies;o Assist in hiring, being lead on training, mentoring, and advising physical science Technology Managers on questions, challenges, negotiations, draft agreements and draft translational funding proposals• Leadership – 15%o Assist and advise Executive Director with management of the physical sciences technology portfolio, including distribution of cases amongst the physical sciences team; managing statuses in the database, patent deadlines and patent expenditureso Assist and advise Executive Director and Associate Director on various matters, including agreement templates, office SOPs, translational funding programs and general strategy; review and sign CDAs and MTAs when they are not availableo Oversee an additional, significant MSUT program, such as the commercialization intern program or a future effort such as a faculty ambassador program.• Innovation Management – 15%o Identify areas of campus research of high commercial interest and potentialo Establish key faculty relationshipso Mine innovative technology from research and support faculty in submitting invention disclosures o Work with faculty to understand and develop research/development plan to move technology toward a commercial-ready stateo Understand and make timely decisionso Work with Patent Administration team on federal reportingo Work with Executive Director to manage technologies with complex histories and challenges• Patent Protection and Strategy – 15%o Develop and execute domestic and international (if applicable) intellectual property protection strategy to achieve commercial goalso Manage portfolio by taking appropriate and timely procedural steps with outside counselo Meet objectives for patent filings and other patent related targetso Assess invention disclosures for commercial potential including screening, market research, customer discovery, and working with mentors-in-residenceo Make decisions on IP protection strategy and work with outside attorneys to ensure patent applications are filed, maintenance fees are paid, and office actions are responded to• Marketing Technologies – 5%o Manage the development of a marketing strategy and supporting materials for technologies using applicable resources (interns, patent and business intelligence data sources, mentors-in-residence, etc.) as applicableo Implement marketing strategy to deliver high quality information to interested leads via non-confidential summarieso Develop appropriate technology valuation, negotiation positions, and deal terms to support marketing planso Use online partnering platforms, and email campaigns to market technologies• Licensing and Agreement Compliance – 20%o Identify reasonable deal valuation in context of relevant market(s) and prior deals while maximizing the value of the technologyo Identify other party’s anticipated positions, needs, and wants during negotiation to finalize dealo Evaluate potential licensee business/technology development plan in support of risk assessmento Identify optimal licensee(s) and appropriate deal structureso Implement licensing strategies (e.g., bundling, inter-institutional, multiple agreements per technology) in context of the technology and applicable market(s)o Negotiate term sheets and draft agreement languageo Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners/collaboratorso Work with Agreement Compliance team to support and meet objectives for agreement compliance; undertake primary role in addressing licenses that are out of compliance o Leverage existing relationships to support additional partnerships with MSU, including research, student recruiting, and further licensing opportunities with relevant MSU offices (e.g., Business Connect)• Faculty Support – 10%o Develop and manage strong relationships with faculty inventors and prospective inventorso Provide guidance on material transfer, confidentiality, and data use agreementso Assist as necessary regarding intellectual property policies and procedures in support of grant applications with OSP/CGAo Collaborate with Spartan Innovations and other relevant groups in support of MSU researcher-led and MSU technology-based startup companieso Participate in educational and in-reach programs to MSU faculty and researchers including department seminars, research symposiums, and university programs/committees• Continuous Improvement, Strategic Initiatives and Professional Development – 5%o Continuous improvement of skills, tools, and systems in support of MSUTo Support key initiatives of other MSUT functionso Collaborate with other offices in the MSU Innovation Center, such as Business Connect to support sponsored research agreements and other types of collaborations developed via marketing activitieso Develop annual Professional Development and Improvement Plan

Position Summary
The Medical Aesthetician (Cosmetic Injector) provides non-surgical cosmetic injectable services within Michigan State Universitys Aesthetic and Laser Treatment Center. The position is responsible for conducting aesthetic consultations, developing individualized treatment plans, administering cosmetic injectable procedures within the individual's legal scope of practice, and delivering exceptional client-centered care in accordance with university policies and applicable state and federal regulations. The Medical Aesthetician collaborates with the Medical Director and the multidisciplinary aesthetic team to promote safe, evidence-based aesthetic treatments while supporting the continued growth of the Aesthetic and Laser Treatment Center.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge normally acquired by completing specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational or trade school such as a state approved cosmetology program; five to eight years of experience as an Aesthetician in a high volume environment; experience in Broad Band/Intense Pulsed Light Energy lasers; experience with HALO Profractional Laser; knowledge of Cosmeceutical Ingredient; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; must possess an active Michigan Aesthetician Certification. Minimum Qualifications Current Michigan licensure or certification authorizing the individual to perform cosmetic injectable procedures within their legal scope of practice.
