Job Description:
The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is seeking a research-practitioner with experience in collegiate mental health who thrives in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will serve as CWC’s Assistant Director for Research & Assessment/Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The Assistant Director for Research & Assessment is responsible for the management of research, assessment, data collection, data analysis, report writing, and data dissemination/publication activities of the CWC.
In addition to these specific administrative duties, the job duties include:
Carrying a modest caseload including individual, couples and group counseling.
Crisis intervention, campus consultation, outreach programs, clinical supervision.
Professional training and teaching, scholarly activities (professional presentations, leadership, and publications); and

To be successful in this role, you should possess:
Evidence of expertise in current and emerging college-age mental health issues, and experience working in a college or university mental health setting.

At least one year of clinical-administrative and leadership experience, including strategic planning and/or progressively responsible experience.
Ability to plan and coordinate the staffing of research studies, to include the recruitment and administration of research support staff, as appropriate to the activity.
Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding individuals and groups through research, assessment, and strategic planning processes.
Strong background with monitoring the progress of research activities, develop and maintain records of research activities, prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of human research protection standards, including Institutional Review Board protocols and procedures
Ability to implement quality control processes throughout research activities.
Effective communication, writing, critical thinking, and organizational skills required to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical delivery systems for the agency and divisional/university reports.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders, including University of Florida Institutional Review Board office and the Center for Collegiate Mental Health (CCMH).
Skilled in the use of technologies in support of data collection, analysis, and reporting; including (at minimum) Qualtrics, Excel, and SPSS, and open to learning about AI, Power BI, and other tools.

The successful candidate will:

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
Preferred:
The ideal candidate will possess:
CPA licensure preferred.
Experience in implementing and configuring a large-scale ERP, including setup and maintenance of financial structures, chart of accounts and accounting rules. Experience in the higher education or public sector ERP implementations is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of new technologies and systems, including leveraging emerging tools such as AI to enhance processes, improve decision-making and increase operational efficiency.
Experience with unitized endowments, including the management and reporting of pooled investment funds.
Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles and financial reporting, including the use of ERP tools for generating financial reports.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through issues and provide alternate, well-defined solutions.
Experience in change management, including developing strategies to facilitate organizational adoption of new systems and processes.
Experience in developing and delivering end-user training and support materials.
Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.
High-level proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred, including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, reporting, and chart creation.

The Opportunity
The University of Florida College of Medicine and UF Health seek an Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) to provide oversight of hospital-appointed Medical Directors. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this physician leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight of the Medical Director structure across UF Health Shands. The ACMO will advance quality, patient safety, and operational performance by strengthening the structure, governance, and alignment of hospital-appointed Medical Director roles. This role partners closely with hospital leadership, physician leaders, and operational teams to ensure consistency in administrative oversight, enhance accountability, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. This role does not oversee ambulatory clinic medical directors in the Greater Gainesville market.In This Role, the ACMO Will:
Standardize Medical Director roles, expectations, and appointment processes; develop centralized tracking and accountability structures, including time studies.
Serve as liaison between Medical Directors and hospital leadership; facilitate regular forums to strengthen communication and alignment between departments and hospital goals.
Support oversight of clinical programs, including throughput, efficiency, and resource utilization initiatives with local medical directors.
Facilitate quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory readiness; support performance monitoring and improvement initiatives
Partner with nursing, operational, and physician leaders to improve interdisciplinary coordination and support hospital governance structures
Support strategic initiatives to meet or exceed identified goals on our balanced hospital scorecard
