    Job Description:

    The Clinical Research Assistant position described herein is responsible for collecting clinical data for various studies by screening patients in clinic. The incumbent participates in a wide range of activities duties which includes performing data entry; collecting patient data; creating, collecting, and processing clinical surveys, assessments, and questionnaires; and collecting patient measurements (including range of motion, strength measurements, and other outcome data). Attend research meetings and communicate study progress to the research team.

    • Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized filing systems for patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data management protocols. Maintain and update research databases, identifying and resolving data discrepancies and basic system issues. Utilize Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and REDCap to manage datasets, generate reports, and support study documentation. Image processing software to organize data in support of research activities.
    • Obtain informed consent from patients for participation in assigned research studies, ensuring clear communication of study procedures, risks, and benefits. Collect and document patient survey data accurately in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
    • Extract and review patient information from Epic Systems to locate study-specific data points. Accurately input collected data into appropriate research databases, ensuring completeness, consistency, and adherence to study protocols.
    • Assist with gait analysis data collection for pediatric and adult populations, ensuring accurate measurement and documentation of movement patterns.
    • Attend research division meetings, contributing to discussions and staying informed on study progress, updates, and protocol changes. Provide support to clinical research coordinators as needed, assisting with study-related tasks to ensure efficient project execution.
    Expected Salary:

    $20.11 - $23.00; commensurate with education and experience.

    Required Qualifications:

    High School Diploma and one year of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred:

    EXPERIENCE:

    Experience in a healthcare setting; experience with patients and/or medical research preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE:

    Strong working knowledge of musculoskeletal system and knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy

    Familiarity with basic orthopedic assessments

    Familiarity with data collection processes and procedures

    SKILLS:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, REDCap

    Demonstrate project management skills

    ABILITIES:

    Ability to compose own correspondence and edit/proofread that of others - Capable of working under pressure and producing within deadlines - Ability to prioritize own work and proceed with minimum supervision - Ability to always maintain a professional approach

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    Demonstrate ease with learning new programs

    Always maintain strict confidentiality.

    Interacts professionally with the public in a sensitive and professional manner; screens requests and materials effectively and efficiently; and readily handles a variety of situations

    Works independently and as a team member

    Articulate; has a good command of the English language

    Punctual; maintains an excellent attendance record

    Highly organized

    Consistently demonstrates personal initiative

    Displays interest in the overall well-being of the health system
