Help Shape the Future of Community-Based Primary Care
Archer Family Health Care is expanding to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community, and we are seeking talented, compassionate, and dedicated professionals to join our team. As part of our expansion, we are adding new positions across clinical, administrative, and operational functions to support enhanced patient access, innovative care delivery, and continued excellence in family-centered healthcare.
Located within the University of Florida College of Nursing, Archer Family Health Care delivers high-quality, evidence-based primary care services while serving as a dynamic clinical learning environment for future healthcare professionals. Our team is committed to improving health outcomes, advancing interprofessional collaboration, and providing exceptional care to individuals and families across the lifespan.

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) provides comprehensive, evidence-based pediatric primary care services at Archer Family Health Care (AFHC), a nurse-led rural health clinic operated by the University of Florida College of Nursing. As a key member of an integrated, interprofessional healthcare team, the ARNP delivers high-quality care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults through age 21, with an emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health conditions.

The ARNP is responsible for independently assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing pediatric patients in accordance with Florida statutes, evidence-based practice guidelines, and organizational policies. Services include conducting well-child visits, annual physical examinations, developmental and preventive screenings, immunizations, management of acute illnesses and injuries, and ongoing care for chronic medical conditions. The incumbent collaborates closely with behavioral health providers, nurses, social workers, faculty, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care in a rural practice setting.
In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the ARNP participates in quality improvement initiatives, population health activities, clinical program development, and efforts to enhance patient outcomes and access to care. The incumbent is expected to engage in monthly provider and interdisciplinary team meetings, contribute to the continuous improvement of clinic operations and care delivery processes, and support the academic mission of the College of Nursing through the precepting and clinical education of graduate nursing students. The position requires a commitment to excellence in clinical practice, collaboration, service to rural and underserved populations, and the advancement of nursing-led healthcare delivery.

Comprehensive Patient Assessment, Diagnosis, and Documentation
Provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric patients from infancy through age 21. Obtain and document detailed patient histories, perform age-appropriate physical examinations, assess developmental milestones, evaluate acute and chronic health conditions, and formulate differential diagnoses. Accurately document assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards. Develop individualized plans of care and monitor patient progress through follow-up visits and ongoing care management.

Diagnostic Evaluation, Treatment Planning, and Care Management
Order, perform, and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and screening tests as clinically indicated. Evaluate test results and communicate findings to patients and families in a clear and compassionate manner. Develop, implement, and modify evidence-based treatment plans for acute illnesses, injuries, chronic diseases, and preventive health needs. Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with state regulations and clinical practice guidelines. Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources as appropriate and ensure continuity of care through effective care coordination and follow-up.

Clinical Procedures and Preventive Care Services
Perform outpatient clinical procedures within the ARNP's scope of practice and demonstrated competency, including but not limited to skin biopsies, lesion removals, cervical cancer screenings, intrauterine device (IUD) insertions and removals, Nexplanon insertions and removals, basic wound management and suturing, incision and drainage procedures, and other minor office-based procedures as appropriate. Maintain procedural competency and ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical practices, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.

Clinical Education, Precepting, and Professional Development
Serve as a clinical educator and preceptor for graduate nursing students, providing instruction, mentorship, supervision, and clinical guidance in the delivery of patient care. Facilitate student learning through direct observation, case review, clinical teaching, and performance feedback. Promote evidence-based practice and support the educational mission of the College of Nursing by fostering professional growth, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and interprofessional collaboration among learners.

Interprofessional Collaboration, Quality Improvement, and Program Development
Actively participate in monthly provider meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and operational planning activities to improve patient care delivery and clinic efficiency. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, population health efforts, and evidence-based practice projects, including Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) scholarly projects and clinical outcome evaluations. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and healthcare professionals to identify opportunities for process improvement, enhance patient outcomes, and support organizational goals.

Community Engagement, Compliance, and Administrative Responsibilities
Support clinic operations through participation in policy implementation, regulatory compliance activities, and organizational initiatives. Promote health education, disease prevention, and wellness within the rural community served by Archer Family Health Care. Maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements while adhering to all applicable federal, state, university, and clinical practice regulations. Assist with additional clinical, administrative, and programmatic responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the College of Nursing and the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care.
