    Classification Title:

    Core Rsch Facil Technician III

    Job Description:
    • Processing samples and operating instruments associated with 10X Genomics single-cell RNASeq studies. Efficiently and accurately deliver the data to customers.
    • Preparing and analyzing DNA samples for genotyping analysis on the GeneTitan Multi-Channel Instrument System. Analyze plate data using the Axiom Analysis Suite and deliver to customers.
    • Performing qPCR and digital PCR; assessing DNA and RNA QC and preparing high-quality libraries for RNASeq analysis. Efficiently and accurately deliver the data to customers.
    • Performing DNA/RNA extraction, nucleic acid quantification, Nanodrop, and by Qubit assay, nucleic acid quality assessment using the Bioanalyzer/Tapestation runs. Consult with customers regarding nucleic acid quality assessment.
    • Processing samples for 16s rDNA metagenomics and related lab work. Efficiently and accurately deliver the data to customers.
    • Assisting customers with walk-up services, training customers on how to use the instruments, and communicating with customers in a professional manner.
    • Monitoring lab supply inventory and ordering. Additional duties as required.
    Expected Salary:

    $45,000 - $46,000

    Required Qualifications:

    BA/BS in related scientific field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Core or technology specific licensure and/or certifications where applicable. Additionally, yearly certificate and compliance training if required.

    Preferred:
    • 3 years of laboratory experience in using standard molecular biology or recombinant DNA methods.
    • Experience in preparation, quality assessment, and processing of nucleic acid.
    • Experience with operating Digital PCR System, qPCR, 10x Chromium Genomics technology, and GeneTitan Multichannel System.
    • Previous experience in customer service.
    • Knowledge of and experience working with and maintaining laboratory equipment/supplies
    • Ability to learn new laboratory procedures rapidly.
    • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate lab records as well as handle data efficiently
    • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate projects.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and customers.
    • Ability to accept constructive criticism from a supervisor.
    • Self-motivated, positive individual.
