    Job Description:

    Position Function:

    The Recruitment and Student Success Coordinator position provides support to the Office of Admissions and Student Success by leading student recruitment efforts and fostering a supportive environment that enhances the overall student experience for veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Primary roles of the position are to:
    (1) advise and recruit prospective students to MSU with the goal of attending veterinary school,
    (2) counsel and support prospective students through the application and enrollment process,
    (3) coordinate and assist with admissions functions, student success activities and events for
    prospective students,
    (4) coordinate resources and provide guidance to help students navigate the challenges of
    veterinary school, and
    (5) develop and implement robust communication plans to attract applicants from various
    backgrounds and geographic regions to the college.

    Salary Grade: 14

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Engage with prospective students through various channels including high school visits, college fairs, informational sessions and individual meetings; providing detailed information about the DVM program, admissions procedures, and student life.
    2. Collaborate with academic and administrative units in the Colleges and the MSU campus (MSU Career Center, Undergraduate Admissions, Parking Services) regarding admissions events, procedures, policies, and related matters.
    3. Assist with the veterinary admissions process by engaging with prospective students, providing information on student life and support services, as well as assisting with student application processing.
    4. Maintain and develop a robust communication plan (e.g. emails, newsletter, social media, mailouts, text messaging) that deliver content to prospective students through multiple channels and mediums
    5. Coordinate a variety of student recruitment and enrollment initiatives, such as development of recruitment materials (through collaboration with the CVM communications and marketing team), recruitment events, and managing groups of veterinary students involved with activities
    6. Oversee and maintain systems related to student recruitment, leveraging data analytics to inform and enhance recruitment strategies and decision-making processes
    7. Maintain relations with high schools, academies, community/ junior colleges and other universities
    8. Coordinate and manage recruitment events and activities, including campus tours, informational sessions for prospective students
    9. Coordinate and oversee student-centered programs, events, and activities that support recruitment, outreach, engagement, and student success.
    10. Provide support for student leadership, ambassador, and engagement initiatives as needed to advance the College's recruitment and student success goals.
    11. Foster collaborative relationships with CVM faculty, staff, student leaders, and university partners to strengthen student success initiatives and ensure they are well-integrated into the overall student experience.
    12. Perform related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Life Sciences, Natural Resources, Education, or other degrees related to this position

    Experience (yrs.): 2 years of experience in student affairs/admissions

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s Degree in Student Affairs and additional years of admissions and student affairs
    experience beyond the minimum

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    · University level recruiting experience and demonstrated success. · Experience advising at the undergraduate level and above · Proficient skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications including Microsoft Word, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and Excel and shared documents or forms · Familiarity with usage of Banner and CRM systems such as Slate · Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking experience · Independent self-starter and team player with strong work ethic. · Ability to coordinate a wide variety of tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work functions with attention to details · Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines

    Working Conditions and Physical Effort

    Frequent- External and internal imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; some ability to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor; flexibility in work hours with some after hour and weekend work for activities. Job frequently requires talking, sitting, hearing, and handling objects with hands. Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
