    Job Description:

    The University of Florida is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist II to support HR operations across the Division of Enrollment Management. In this role, you will manage HR transactions across the employee lifecycle, support payroll and time administration, assist with recruitment and onboarding, and provide guidance to supervisors and staff on HR policies and procedures.

    Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Payroll Administration & General HR Processing

    • Process HR transactions across the employee lifecycle, including hires, terminations, leave requests, and position updates
    • Monitor and manage electronic personnel action forms (ePAFs), ensuring timely processing and status updates
    • Oversee weekly payroll activities, including time review, preliminary and final payroll
    • Maintain accurate time records, including tracking employees on extended leave in accordance with UFHR Payroll and FMLA guidelines
    • Collaborate with the HR Manager to resolve complex or sensitive transactions
    • Support business process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery

    Staff Support

    • Serve as a resource to supervisors and staff on HR policies, procedures, and programs
    • Provide guidance on time and labor, payroll, benefits, leave administration, and other HR processes
    • Partner with supervisors to address timekeeping issues and ensure timely approvals
    • Interpret and communicate HR policies to promote consistent understanding and application across the division
    • Support the consistent implementation of division policies, procedures, and operating practices
    • Develop and deliver training, guidance materials, and one-on-one support to supervisors and staff on HR functions, processes, and systems

    Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Support

    • Serve as a Talent Advisor, partnering with hiring managers to support full-cycle recruitment activities across the division
    • Coordinate recruitment processes, including position postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and search panel support
    • Monitor hiring progress and ensure processes are completed in accordance with university policies, procedures, and timelines
    • Support onboarding processes by coordinating pre-employment requirements, preparing onboarding documentation, and facilitating timely completion of required employment actions
    • Contribute to division-wide and departmental orientation programs

    Compliance & Reporting

    • Maintain compliance tracking for required training, probationary periods, and employee check-ins
    • Ensure personnel records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
    • Provide reporting and analytical support to inform HR decision-making

    Other Duties

    • Stay informed on changes to HR regulations, policies, and systems
    • Develop and maintain process documentation and internal control guides
    • Support special projects and initiatives led by the HR Manager and leadership
    • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and Director, Administrative Services
    • Perform additional duties as assigned
    Expected Salary:

    $60,000 annually

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred:
    • Two years of experience supporting HR functions in a high-volume, professional work environment.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, and provide responsive, solution-oriented support to stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
    • Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and develop solutions to improve HR processes.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and maintaining attention to detail.
    • Experience with reporting and data analysis to support HR decision-making.
    • Working knowledge of myUFL systems as they relate to HR transactions and payroll processes.
    • Knowledge of and experience with university and state regulations related to fiscal, budgetary, and HR functions.
