| Job Description: |
Responsible for receiving, sorting, and campus delivery of U.S. Postal Service and UF departmental mail • Ensure high quality customer service at all times; maintain excellent communications and customer relations with all departments • Track accountable mail using the QTrak tracking System Responsible for assisting department in achieving highest performance in daily operations of all mail functions • Ensure efficient rerouting of misdirected mail via directory services; maintain current knowledge of campus organizational and personnel changes • Ensure daily completion of mail delivery vehicle usage records; responsible for providing regular feedback concerning vehicle maintenance and upkeep • Responsible for maintaining and finding ways to improve efficiencies in the mail delivery process; make recommendations for changes to supervisor as needed Perform daily count of incoming mail and packages including internal campus mail Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of and ensuring compliance with appropriate guidelines in the following areas: • Mail and package handling techniques and procedures, including departmental and university policies and procedures • University of Florida and U.S. Postal Service guidelines for proper handling of hazardous materials that may be received through the mail • State of Florida and UF traffic regulations Responsible for serving as a back-up in the processing of outgoing university mail on electronic mail machines including maintaining knowledge of postal rates and regulations to ensure lowest rates for UF departments Develop reports, handle special projects and other duties as assigned Valid driver’s license of class required for Mail Service vehicles. NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: • Normal work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm or 6:00 am to 3:00 pm as assigned by supervisor • Flexibility to adjust normal work schedule is required to meet department needs of occasional evening or weekend work including Saturdays on a rotating basis when needed |
| Expected Salary: |
$16.00 to $16.50 Hourly based on experience. |

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. |
| Preferred: |
• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment |
