Facility Maintenance Leadership and Operations: Responsible for all facility maintenance activities for UF/IFAS FPO at the following facilities in the Southern Region. Provides leadership and direction for daily maintenance operations, including work order management, asset upkeep, preventive maintenance scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance. Duties include assigning and reviewing work, evaluating staff performance, coordinating after hours emergency response, and ensuring adherence to UF/IFAS policies and procedures. This role requires driving a state vehicle to remote sites as needed. Oversight of General Maintenance Contracts: Manages and monitors general facility service contracts for the region, including custodial services, grounds and landscape maintenance, pest control, waste services, and other routine operational contracts. Works closely with vendors and local staff to ensure contract compliance, service quality, and timely resolution of issues. Coordinates with central FPO leadership to align contract needs with departmental standards and expectations. Facility Planning and Small Projects: Supports facility planning by identifying deferred maintenance needs, providing input on scope development, and coordinating with Project Managers, contractors, and stakeholders, while overseeing small remodels and repairs to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with UF/IFAS requirements. Maintains communication with faculty and staff throughout project phases. Regional Coordination and Site Support: Provides regional support to other IFAS locations as needed, including site assessments, troubleshooting maintenance concerns, and assisting with operational planning. Ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained by identifying issues proactively and coordinating appropriate corrective actions. Overnight travel may be required. Training, Safety, and Administrative Support: Provides training and guidance to maintenance staff on proper procedures, equipment use, and safety practices. Assists with developing and updating local procedures to support a safe and efficient work environment. Maintains required records, reports, and documentation to support compliance and operational needs. |
| Expected Salary: |
$75,000 - $85,000/yearly commensurate with education and experience |
| Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license. |
| Preferred: |
• State university system facilities management preferred. |
