The person in this position must be physically able to lift/move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and must be able to work in extreme temperatures in a warehouse environment. |
| Job Description: |
The UF Surplus PC/AV Shop is the computer and electronic diagnostic facility that is responsible for the appropriate disposition and sustainability of all “information technology” and electronic property surveyed out as surplus by all UF departments. UF Surplus fulfills UF's sustainability commitment by reducing UF's technology waste by reusing technology within UF, reselling to the public or donating technology to the community, and recycling technology that is no longer viable. The OPS performs the following:
Separate items and sort through boxes that come into UF Surplus to place items in proper locations. Items not sustainable will be palletized and sent to the E-Waste Recycler. |

$15/hour |
| Preferred: |
This individual is preferred to have a knowledge of IT equipment, ability to lift heavy objects when needed, and excellent communication skills. Ability to organize and coordinate work activities; to follow written and verbal instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and to project a positive and professional attitude with others. |
