    Classification Title:

    Maintenance Generalist III

    Classification Minimum Requirements:

    High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least four (4) years of experience in the field or in a related area. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

    Job Description:
    • Oversees farm maintenance personnel. Participate in the maintenance of rolling stock including tractors, pickup trucks, trailers, cars including on-site repair and preventative maintenance. Driving will be required.
    • Support the needs of the Agronomy farm through tasks such as tillage operations, planting, pesticide applications, harvesting, etc.
    • Maintain specialized research and farm equipment (planters, harvesters, etc.) as well as research facilities (like the forage dryer, etc.) including on-site repair and preventative maintenance.
    • Provide leadership in maintaining and repairing all NFREC-Marianna pivots and wells used for research and extension. Work with the Beef Unit Farm Manager and the Agronomy Farm Manager to ensure that they are working and well maintained for minimum down-time.
    • Provide oversight for maintenance done on the main road systems and gravel parking areas around the Beef and Agronomy farms including grading, repair, and upgrading.
    • Build or fabricate apparatuses for research purposes.
    Expected Salary:

    $24.90/hr.

    Required Qualifications:

    Criminal Background Check Required
    Florida Class E operator (driver) license

    Preferred:

    Demonstrated experience and ability in personnel supervision. Individual must be able to work independently with general, not daily supervision. Must have good organizational and managerial skills related to personnel and processes. Must be able to complete projects in a timely manner and be committed to customer service. Must be able to work in a team and communicate (both orally and written) effectively with individuals in the work group.
