The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida is seeking a full-time mental health professional with experience in collegiate mental health who thrives in an environment that values collaboration and support among team members and will work with us to assist UF students cultivate their mental health in support of their personal, educational, and career development.
We are seeking a professional with experience and expertise related to a wide-array of anxiety-related disorders; including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorders, substance-induced anxiety disorders, acute stress disorders, etc. at any point in their professional development with a strong interest in working with domestic and international students in a university counseling center. The counselor’s primary responsibility is to provide direct clinical services, including group, individual and couples counseling to University of Florida students. Potential colleagues should also have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns and levels of severity. This professional is also expected to participate in the center’s model of shared governance through the coordination of specific initiatives, membership or chairing of committees or task forces.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: assessment/psychological testing, biofeedback, neurodivergence, alcohol & other drug use, trauma, disordered eating concerns, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders, and/or psychotherapy and outreach with students from a range of backgrounds.

About the Counseling and Wellness Center Our center consists of 47 clinicians in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and counselor education. CWC is also home to a large training program for graduate students in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education and a doctoral psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. Members of our center are cohesive, collegial, engaged, and share a passion for working in collegiate mental health. The CWC is a learning organization as clinical service, training, outreach, and professional development are informed by research, local data, and benchmarking with national trends and peer institutions. Expected Salary: |
$72,000 -$77,000 - salary commensurate to qualifications and experience |
Minimum Requirements: |
Professionals with one of the following credentials: 1) Social worker with a master’s degree or a Ph.D. in social work from a Certified Social Work Education-accredited school of social work; 2) Counselor with a master’s degree in counseling; 3) counselors with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling from an APA or CACREP accredited doctoral program. All applicants must be licensed as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida. |
