Accountant II

Job Description:

Performs all accounting functions; maintains account ledgers, compiles data, prepares reports and develops recommendations for policies, procedures, or control systems. Investigates and analyzes billing or other accounting errors and collaborates with relevant departments to rectify them

Review payroll pay lists and leave reports; work with staff concerning available funds; provide information on UF purchasing policies and procedures and state of Florida and federal rules governing all applicable funding sources

Develops procedures and accounting systems for RecSports; reconciles all transactions for all accounts with commitment control and shadow books

Provide feedback to supervisor regarding the safety and/or condition of programs, equipment and facilities; conduct daily observations and/or use said equipment and facilities; immediately document and address all safety concerns.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience

Valid driver’s license; designated as an essential employee that may be required to work during campus closures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in accounting; understanding of UF purchasing regulations and procedures, UF payment procedures and PeopleSoft; excellent Excel spreadsheet skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally and to undertake initiatives; and is self-motivated, adaptable, a great team player and customer focused.
