Job Description:

Designs, plans, installs, debugs, troubleshoots, and supports highly complex audio visual software and hardware for classrooms, lecture halls, and conference rooms in a timely manner without the need for management approval. Responds to tier two and tier three service requests in a timely fashion. Evaluates equipment, components and software for new solutions to complex systems and advises faculty and staff on appropriate selection and use of audio-visual equipment. Provides instruction and guidance for faculty and staff who need assistance in becoming familiar with equipment. Follows up with customers and vendors to ensure smooth operations. May serve as on-call support as needed.

Serves as a technical facilitator for video conference sessions ensuring equipment and space is prepared for learning and communication. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving highly complex software and hardware issues independently. Live stream and record learning sessions and monitor, edit and post results. Must have broad knowledge of multiple computer environments, platforms, and technologies. Configures integrated solutions to meet customer needs. Participates in and provides information for the strategic planning process with faculty and staff as to presentation software and preparation that needs to take place outside of the classroom that leads to a successful lecture or meeting.

Develops strategies for implementing multimedia technology across a range of programs and initiatives including systems and procedures to enhance classroom teaching and lecturing. Recognizes when system limitations exist in relation to teaching and independently coordinates changes regarding equipment modification or replacement. Considers adaptations to current workflows and communicates with faculty, staff, and management.

Project management. As new audio-visual projects come online, this person serves an integral role keeping customers’ interests at the forefront of the conversation for learning space renovation and updates. Leads and provides oversight for development projects of moderate to large scale. Recommends preventative actions and assists in finding solutions to recurring audio-visual equipment software and hardware problems. Participates in planning and resource development activities. Assists with physical implementation and documentation of updates and changes.

Other duties as assigned, including lifting up to 25 Lbs, crawling underneath desks and tables, reaching overhead, using a stepladder, doing work with hands requiring fine muscle control.

Expected Salary:

$61,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written, American English) are required.
• Knowledge of current and emerging technologies (e.g., common PC desktop applications, educational technologies, video conferencing hardware and software)
• Ability to work independently and motivated to develop strategies for improving processes
• Ability to organize and manage complex activities and to complete assignments in a timely fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.
• One (1) year experience in audio visual support, video conference or relevant support services
• Possess a strong knowledge of audio/visual, video conference, and educational technology systems and standards. Requires demonstrated abilities and experience in classroom technology. Requires experience interacting with faculty and staff in sensitive situations. Requires judgment in human relations skills to interface and communicate in an articulate manner with faculty, administrators, and academic personnel. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
