Job Description:

The Office of Admissions is seeking an Assistant Director of International Recruitment to lead our efforts in enrolling international students at the undergraduate level. In this role, you will regularly collaborate with Admissions leadership and directly engage with prospective students and their families. Additionally, this position involves significant international travel.

Key responsibilities include:

International Outreach and Enrollment Planning

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive international recruitment plan.
  • Participate in significant international travel and support domestic travel to represent the University at high schools and college fairs. This includes loading and unloading materials (40lb limit) and operating a state vehicle in support of recruitment efforts.
  • Utilize data and trend analysis to identify key international markets and maintain relationships with international high school counselors and recruitment contacts.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and events for international students.
  • Assist in strategic planning and policy development related to international admissions.

Credential Evaluation and Support

  • Review and evaluate academic credentials for international undergraduate, graduate, and certificate applicants.
  • Research and verify international credentials using internal and external resources.
  • Serve as a reference point on international credentials for prospective students and university staff.
  • Stay current on best practices in international education through ongoing professional development.

Admissions Presentations and Counseling

  • Conduct admission presentations and counsel visitors at the UF Welcome Center.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students via phone, email, and web platforms.
  • Review freshman applications holistically.

Other Duties

  • Supervise a full-time Admissions Officer, including goal setting and performance evaluation.
  • Assist in managing the revision of admissions materials targeted toward international students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Valid Driver's License is required.

Valid passport for international travel is required.

  • Experience with international credential evaluation
  • General knowledge of regulations governing student visas
