JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Employee Experience Intern to support our efforts in creating an inclusive workplace and enhancing the overall employee journey. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that shape our organizational culture and employee satisfaction.

This is a fulltime internship (40 hours per week) for a period of 9 weeks during the summer.

  • Timing: The 2025 summer internship will begin Monday, June 9th and conclude on Friday, August 8th.
  • Hours: Interns should be able to commit to NORC’s 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CDT business hours.
  • Compensation: The hourly rate of pay is $22.
  • Location: This is a remote position with the option for hybrid work if you live near one of our office locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing DEI initiatives and programs
  • Support the creation and analysis of employee surveys and feedback mechanisms
  • Help organize and facilitate DEI training sessions and workshops
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive policies and practices
  • Assist in creating internal communications related to DEI and employee experience
  • Support employee resource groups and their activities
  • Help track and analyze DEI metrics and prepare reports
  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives that highlight our inclusive culture
  • Assist in designing and implementing employee recognition programs
  • Support the development of employee wellness and work life balance initiatives

Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain practical experience in implementing DEI strategies in a corporate setting
  • Develop skills in data analysis and reporting for DEI and employee experience metrics
  • Enhance understanding of best practices in creating inclusive workplaces
  • Learn about the intersection of DEI and overall employee experience

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Must be a rising senior in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong academic background with a minimum GPA of 3.2
  • Demonstrated interest in DEI and employee experience through coursework, projects, or extracurricular activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau)
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse teams and environments
  • Creative problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
