This Education/Training Specialist II (Workforce Development Program Specialist) will report to the FSI Assistant Director of Workforce Development. The incumbent will support the coordination and execution of workforce development programs targeting statewide economic impact via outreach programs at K-20 districts, career/technical colleges, state college, and universities. Focus will be on supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of programs aimed at educating, introducing, and training individuals for careers in the semiconductor industry. This position will increase exposure and expand career pathways to semiconductor and related career-fields in the K-20 system, state colleges and state university system. Partner with educators to integrate semiconductor-focused content into existing programs and develop new educational resources. Collaborate with academic departments, industry partners and various state/local government agencies to ensure curriculum alignment with industry needs. Assist with seeking opportunities for internships, apprenticeships, and other experiential learning programs to enhance the workforce pipeline. Facilitate joint initiatives with Florida's semiconductor ecosystem, fostering collaboration between labs, research institutions, and manufacturing facilities. Build strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance workforce development, innovation, and economic growth in the semiconductor sector. Research new methods, evaluate relevance to the organization, and propose utilization when appropriate. Participate in professional organizations or conferences and assist in delivering professional development opportunities. Work with educators to integrate semiconductor-focused content into existing educational programs. Contribute to the development of new resources that align with industry needs and emerging technologies. Work with supervisors to deliver professional development opportunities. Ensure that staff and participants have access to training that improves their skills and knowledge in the semiconductor field. Work closely with academic departments, industry partners, and government agencies to align educational programs and curricula with industry needs. Ensure content reflects current trends and prepares students for future demands in the semiconductor sector. Work with supervisors to deliver professional development opportunities. Expected Salary: |
$60,000-$70,000; commensurate with qualifications & experience |
Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Four years of direct experience in workforce development, economic development, or related field. Demonstrated success in building and managing partnerships with industry, academia, and government entities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Proven ability to set and achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. |
