Job Description:

Maintain records for past and present trainees in the Department of Surgery programs. This includes monitoring and documenting progression of training towards graduation requirements.

Prepares for and organize regular occurring meetings with program directors and trainees in accordance to the accreditation requirements. Monitor attendance for all scheduled meetings.

Assists with the development of educational activities, scheduling curriculum sessions, and monitoring methods of assessment of educational initiatives and core competencies.

Manage program databases as required by surgical specialty.

Coordinate interviews for incoming trainees and oversee the application processes during the residency recruitment season.

May assist in program-level policy development and the development of the strategic planning of the residency program and monitor the budget for various residency activities.

Overseeing the planning of internal and external events. This includes financial responsibilities such as: reimbursements, invoices and planning travel for trainees.

Expected Salary:

$50,000-$55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Requires initiative and good judgment.

Attention to detail is very important.

Ability and desire to be a team player being able to work effectively with department faculty and personnel.

Experience in the field of Graduate Medical Education desired
