Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated, part-time Network Documentation Specialist Intern to join Infrastructure and Communications Technology (ICT), a unit within UFIT for the spring semester. The intern will work closely with senior network engineers and management to document processes, standards, and guidelines for the Network Infrastructure.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are: This role involves creating detailed and accurate documentation, ensuring consistency across all materials, and assisting in the development of best practices. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical writing skills, a basic understanding of network infrastructure, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Proficiency in documentation tools and a keen attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Some key learning outcomes for the student intern are:

  1. Technical Documentation Skills: Gain proficiency in creating clear, detailed, and accurate documentation for network processes, standards, and guidelines.
  2. Understanding Network Infrastructure: Develop a foundational understanding of network infrastructure components and their functions.

Expected Salary:

$13.00 to $16.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

UF Student Assistant

This position is open to all students eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

OPS Intern

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Be in the final stages of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field

  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and troubleshooting techniques.
