Job Description:

Drafting Design Documents – Supports Facilities Services objectives by providing technical drafting support and creating construction drawings. Will use computer-aided drafting (CAD) programs including but not limited to Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit to produce two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) drawings based on project requirements. Will work under the direct supervision of an engineer and participate in coordination efforts with project managers and building occupants. Will conduct site visits and take measurements or gather other field data as needed to accurately convey design intent. Typical project scope would be a room renovation with drawings depicting changes to architectural features, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical. Scope may vary.

Utility Computer Modeling – Assit Engineering and Energy group in computer modeling of gravity and pressure piping networks and pumping systems. This includes steam, chilled water, electrical, water, wastewater, stormwater, and reclaimed water systems. Field data collection and coordination with respective utility shops required.

Project Documentation - The position assists the Engineering and Energy group in review and development of University project documentation as needed. Can include attending design meetings, OAC meetings, preparing meeting minutes, reviewing reports and/or design drawings, proposals, invoices, and more.

Other construction assignments as required.

Expected Salary: $15.00 Hourly
Minimum Requirements:

Must be a currently enrolled University of Florida student in a bachelor’s program in an appropriate area of
specialization.
Ability to work 10-20 hours per week.
Must be available to work weekdays during the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, ReCap, GIS, ETAP, and WaterGems modeling suites, and other construction design software.

Experience with converting 2D analog hand drawn or printed drawings into 2D or 3D digital models.

Training or experience in construction process, techniques, and methods of utility production and distribution systems.

Valid driver license.
