Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate -level Reporting and Analytics Developer/Analyst to join Data Platform and Analytics, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

As a key contributor to the Reporting and Analytics Team, you will participate in a variety of projects collaborating with other data analysts on development of data models, operational and analytical reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations for customers across the University. This role under general supervision, requires an individual with deep technical experience, excellent leadership skills, outstanding business acumen and a broad range of knowledge to work with various teams across campus, as well as senior leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity are a must.

A few key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Participate in the requirements gathering, design, development, maintenance, support and documentation of Reporting and Analytics objects including logical data models, operational reports, and dashboards across multiple data domains supported by the UFIT Enterprise Reporting and Analytics team
  • Provide direct customer support to ensure availability and performance of existing reports to customer base
  • Support customer inquiries by debugging reports, researching data pipelines from source to reporting warehouse target and collaborating with Data Engineering team on necessary corrective measures
  • Provide training and guided assistance to customers on reporting best practices and use of university supported toolsets

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associates degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Assist with maintaining reporting products and fulfilling service requests for reporting and analytic products; Research customer inquiries and supports reporting and analytic end-users.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems, tests, debugs code, troubleshoots reports, and ensures quality control practices are followed
  • Collaborates with other IT professionals and core office staff members to maintain existing reports and dashboards and to fulfill enhancements to these systems and related business processes
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI; IBM Cognos systems (including Framework Manager, Report Studio, Dashboarding); Data discovery and visualization systems (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI); Workday reporting; PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Structured Query Language (SQL); Snowflake, Oracle databases; Extract, transform, load (ETL) toolsets; Scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl)
