The University of Florida’s Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory in the College of Veterinary Medicine invites applicants for an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Animal Law position. The mission of the University of Florida Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory is to improve animal welfare for all animals, by fostering the application of the forensic sciences to veterinary medicine and assisting with animal cruelty investigations. Additionally, the VFSL serves the university and community by providing a wide variety of educational opportunities on veterinary forensic science and law. This is a part time adjunct faculty position to teach the law portions in the courses and training’s we offer to veterinary and other university students and attendees at our continuing education events. It is expected that the adjunct faculty will develop new content to be used to educate animal control officers, law enforcement officers, veterinarians, and attorneys through a mixture of in person and online modalities. |

Salary will be commensurate with experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
Hold a J.D. from an ABA accredited institution. Three years post-J.D. work experience in legal practice or related field. Demonstrate evidence of experience involving animal law. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates must, however, demonstrate evidence of teaching potential. |
