Context of job:
Postdoctoral researcher will be assigned to work on the design, characterization, and optimization of conjugated polymer based biopharmaceutical sensors, in collaboration with Prof. Martin, his research group, and representatives from Waters Corporation in Milford MA and at the IMMERSE Delaware site here in the AP Bio building on Star Campus. Postdoctoral Researcher will be expected to conduct full-time independent research. In your new role you will be subject to periodic performance reviews.
Major responsibilities:
- Electrochemical synthesis, processing, and characterization of functionalized polythiophene thin films
- Impedance spectroscopy, optical microscopy, and electron microscopy of polymer thin films
- Testing of sensor performance in model target analytes and in media provided by Waters collaborators
- Writing and oral presentation of results to research group and to Waters collaborators
- Supervision of laboratory participants and equipment
- Provide suggestions for future improvements in materials and testing procedures
Qualifications:
- Experience in organic electronic device design, processing, and testing
- Experience in conjugated polymer materials characterization skills in transport properties, morphology
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field
