Job Description:

Leadership Functions – Receives assignments from the Supervisor or Superintendent that may include working alone or with a small group and oversees the work of others while working alongside them. In the absence of the Supervisor, the incumbent supervises the area work group.

Pressure washes exterior buildings, sidewalks, etc. using high-life equipment. Cleans all exterior and interior windows and buildings with glass facades.

Assists the Labor Crew in delivering and setting-up of stages, tables, chairs, podium, materials and equipment for commencement ceremonies, departments programs, and other special events. Assists in moving and transporting furniture for departments and academic units. Delivers and installs restroom and hand sanitizing dispensers.

Assist the Department with cleaning and maintaining on a needs basis all halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, lab, gym areas, locker room, elevators which includes sweeping, dusting dust-mopping, wet mopping, spot-mopping, reconditioning floors and spot washing and cleaning of walls, doors and partitions. Assist the Department by cleaning all entrances, entrance walks, steps patios and concourses. Empties and cleans all waste cans, trashcans, recycle bins, water fountains, and doormats.

Drives a state vehicle; requires incumbent possess and maintain a valid “Class “E” driver’s license

Required to clean-up blood spills brought on by accidents.

Required to respond to and clean-up water and damage resulting from various mechanical and natural causes.

Processes estimates using AiM system.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Workdays and shift times may vary to include weekends. Some overtime may be required.

Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes.

Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

A Criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.

Expected Salary:

$15.50 Hourly Based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Completion of ninth grade and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING
High school diploma and two (2) years of commercial custodial experience.
Knowledge of pressure washing and cleaning. Ability to perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
Ability to work in elevated environments which includes high-lift equipment and ladders.
Ability to professional supervise, motivate, monitor, and evaluate employees.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral communications and directives.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job (walking, standing, bending and lifting throughout the
shift).
Ability to lift 50 pounds:
1. To remove liners from trash cans.
2. To wring water or floor care chemical-soaked mop in bucket, empty 6.5-gallon mop buckets
which equates to approximately 50 pounds.
3. To remove bio-hazardous waste.
4. To operate and move 18-pound vacuum cleaners and empty vacuum bags.
5. To operate heavy floor care machines (scrubbers, wet vacuums, burnishers, extractors, etc.).
6. To store and unload cases of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work overhead and climb ladders.
Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Ability to perform various tasks with minimal instruction after proper training.
