Health Support Technician I

Job Description:
  • Performs HIV testing to meet a minimum of 100 results per month.
  • Supports patients in navigating the clinic system and community resources.
  • Identifies testing sites in the community (specific area).
  • Attends and Participates in all Outreach and Prevention Programs including
    weekends and evenings, operates/drives the UF CARES mobile unit.
  • Provides administrative assistance with monthly data collection and tracking
    results, maintains all necessary materials for HIV testing.
Expected Salary:

$15 to $18 per hour depending on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience with HIV population preferred, either via work
    environment or participation in volunteer activities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Firsthand knowledge of living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Certified HIV Tester- completed 500/501 courses.
