Job Description: |
The Diagnostic Imaging Technician at the University of Florida Veterinary Hospital provides support for the hospital by producing quality imaging while maintaining exemplary patient care in an efficient manner. These images with the interpretation from our radiologists will provide information to the referring veterinarian or specialist that will help determine a diagnosis for their patient. Our technicians work with all type of animals in both the large and small animal hospital and work on a variety of modalities including but not limited to digital radiography, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Nuclear medicine, portable radiography, interventional radiology, and ultrasound. Individuals should genuinely care about people and animals, possess excellent communication skills, outgoing, full of enthusiasm and a team player An individual in this position must possess excellent communication skills and be proactive in determining the needs of the hospital. A successful applicant should enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment. They need to possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine and express a positive attitude in their daily work. The individual must be able to communicate effectively, demonstrate critical thinking and professionalism. This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. Expected Salary: |
non credentialed: $18-$23; Credentialed: $20-$28, pay is dependent on experience in imaging |

Preferred Qualifications: |
• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR American Registered Radiologic Technologist. |

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan. This is a full time position and will require some on call shifts. This position is eligible for veteran’s preference.
