Manager Accounting

This position, part of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting (GAFR) department within the CFO Division, is responsible for the oversight of daily operations and maintenance of the general ledger. This position will provide guidance across the UF Enterprise and the CFO Division as it pertains the general ledger. The Accounting Manager is responsible for monthly and year -end closing of the general ledger, commitment control, ChartField and tree maintenance, journal entries, monthly financial reports, and other aspect to ensure the integrity of the general ledger and system.

$65k - $75k

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Licensure as a State of Florida Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred, but not required.

This position requires a strong knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, specifically as these principles relate to college and university technical accounting, fund accounting and financial reporting.

This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the PeopleSoft financial accounting system, and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Word and Internet Browsers.

Excellent communication skills are required as well as the ability to work with individuals at multiple levels.

Must display a positive attitude and be a team player – must be able to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Must have the ability to understand various business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
