Job Description:

The UF College of Pharmacy Human Resources team is seeking a knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist to support the College’s needs. Reporting to the Director and Manager of Human Resources, this role involves providing exceptional service and support to faculty and staff on various HR matters, including policies, procedures, classification, recruitment, hiring, payroll, visas, benefits, leave, and general employee support. The position also offers guidance on HR policies, procedures, payroll, recruitment, hiring, and immigration. The ideal candidate will adeptly handle both routine and complex HR issues.

Recruitment and General HR Support:

  • Manage recruitment processes for College of Pharmacy positions, including creating job descriptions, posting job requisitions, developing screening and interview rubrics, reviewing applications, pre-screening applicants via SparkHire, participating in interviews as a search advocate, and issuing post-interview evaluations.
  • Conduct employment verifications, reference checks, and background screenings.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a consistent and exceptional onboarding experience.
  • Assist new employees (Faculty, TEAMS, OPS, Student Assistants, Graduate Assistants, etc.) with the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Provide general HR support to College of Pharmacy personnel.

Payroll:

  • Assist employees with timesheet entry and error resolution.
  • Approve payroll, process On-Cycles, Prior 90's, and Emergency Checks as needed.
  • Manage various Enterprise Reports, including Preliminary and Final Payroll Listings, ensuring completeness and compliance with records retention regulations.
  • Process paperwork and/or ePAFs for cash outs, FMLA, and Leave requests.
  • Process additional payments, run distribution reports, and answer all other payroll/distribution questions as needed.

Postdoctoral Associates:

  • Manage the development plan and annual review cycles for postdoctoral associates, aligned with contract start dates.
  • Manage salary increases based on the NIH scale during the annual review process.

Visas:

  • Assist in sponsoring foreign national visitors by processing various visas, including J-1 and H1B.
  • Track visa end dates to ensure compliance and timely renewals.

Tracking:

  • Conduct regular audits of manually tracked items to ensure accuracy, including OPS Hours Policy, Remote Work Location Agreements, UF Engaged Probation, Website Directory, and Listserv Audit.

Other Duties:

  • Maintain personnel files for all college employees and assist with general benefits inquiries.
  • Conduct exit interviews and process terminations.
  • Collaborate on processes to ensure effective employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and University policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of HR or HR Manager.

Expected Salary:

$55,000-$65,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
