Job Description:

Designs and develops graphics and content for print, web, video and social media. Print communications include booklets, brochures, one-pagers, banners and large wall graphics. Assists with the content and design of electronic newsletter and email marketing campaigns. Maintains and updates the center’s social media accounts, taking responsibility for day-to-day social media activities, and collects and analyzes trends and audience data. Organizes and develops targeted social campaigns for topics or events.

  • Updates and maintains web content and makes recommendations for improvements, taking into account SEO and Google Analytics
  • Leads and assists in producing videos in support of the Center’s needs, which includes filming of student or faculty testimonials and educational videos about UF’s AI programs and research
  • Develops PowerPoint or other types of presentations as needed by the Center director or team
  • Assists with content for weekly AI minutes, which are 60-second broadcasts about UF’s successful AI research that air on WUFT’s NPR radio
  • Provides photography support for Center events or to enhance communications/marketing needs
  • Incumbent will work with Center staff and communications professional across UF campus to manage the Center’s brand and ensure consistency in look and messaging.
  • Works with various vendors for Center’s products needs, from printing and video to promotional materials
  • Observes social, economic, and political trends in the AI space and provides recommendations to team to enhance our communications/marketing work based on these trends.
  • Incumbent must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills facilitating effective collaboration and working relationships with diverse constituencies
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and maintain high level of quality of deliverables

Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Incumbent must be proficient in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Software, and electronic communication software (MailChimp, Constant Contact, SalesForce)
  • Knowledge of website management and design utilizing a CMS
  • Experience in audio-visual production
  • Excellent written and verbal communications. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience in leading communications projects and working with various vendors
  • Experience in writing bid and design specifications for print and other projects, ensuring all parties fully understand the scope of need, budget and deadline
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, be flexible and accountable, manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize task and consistently meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter who needs minimal supervision with a proven track record in executing successful communication and marketing initiatives
