Job Description:

Position Function:

The Director of Outreach and Engagement is responsible for spearheading outreach initiative and identifying clients for our experiential learning needs in the MBA program. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen understanding of educational programming, and a passion for fostering relationships within the community and industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work independently and collaboratively to provide daily operational support in the planning, coordination, and execution of College of Business outreach activities and events including:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach strategy to promote the College of Business mission and programs.
2. Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders including corporations, educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies.
3. Coordinate with faculty to lead the design, development, and delivery of executive education programs tailored to the needs of professionals and organizations.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of outreach efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
5. Identify and develop clients for the MBA Capstone class.
6. Oversee the marketing and promotion of executive education programs through various channels including digital marketing, social media, and direct outreach.
7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach activities, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
8. Represent the College of Business at conferences, events, and industry forums as appropriate.
9. Collaborate with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach to organize and promote entrepreneurship events in the greater Starkville area.
10. Prepare budgets, reports, and applications as needed to support the Economic Development Administration grant and EDA University Center.
11. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to executive education and outreach initiatives.
12. Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to ensure the relevance and quality of executive education content.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Business.

This position may supervise exempt and non-exempt employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or closely related field.

Minimum of 5 years experience in outreach, business development, or executive education, with a proven track record of success.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree with concentration in business administration, marketing, or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
3. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute on innovative outreach strategies.
4. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and networks.
5. Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies preferred.
7. Familiarity with digital marketing tools and techniques.
8. Passion for education and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. No or very limited physical effort required.
