Job Description:

This in-person position is part of the Construction Accounting team is responsible for supervising and directing the construction project accountants’ day-to-day activities and expenditure reporting requirements.

  • This position is responsible for the financial operations of major and minor construction projects that includes reviewing contract/purchase order policies and procedures for consistency with established documents and UF Statutory policies and procedures, change order amendments, verifying construction invoices for payment that complies with contract terms and conditions that includes reconciling the schedule of values by the Construction Manager requesting payments, and analysis of overall project development and budgeting authorities. The position will also review all purchase order requests that are funded by construction funding sources. Supervision and maintenance of the financial review of the Project Tracker system for all construction projects from undertaken from Planning, Design, and Construction at the University of Florida. This includes verifying construction projects for closeout requests and following up on any that are pending.

  • Establish operational goals and objectives that align with the overall strategic plan of the department including:
    • Identifying Key Performance Indicators to support more efficient business processes are managed
    • Review with Leadership and campus units any questions and identified areas that could support the core values of the CFO Division.

  • Provides leadership for direct report(s) and student interns, including effective performance management, identification of training needs and professional development plans. Creates an innovative and continuous improvement focused environment by seeking out and encouraging ideas for process change. Actively supports and contributes to the CFO Division commitment to inclusive excellence.

  • The position will assist PD&C Project Managers with Direct Purchase order contracts, requisitions, and payments when needed. In addition, this position will provide an advisory role for the Project Managers for construction project financial review. In addition, the position will conduct on site audit verifications of labor burden verification and construction managers staffing, payroll and other pertinent records.
Expected Salary:

$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position should be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently.
