Job Description:

Position Function:

This position will be housed in NSPARC. The primary functions of this position include conducting research and data analysis and writing reports and producing other materials current research in the fields of workforce, education, and economic development.

Salary Grade: 13

Department Profile:

The National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center (NSPARC) conducts research and creates customized solutions in areas of economic, workforce, business, and community development.

Anticipated Appointment Date:

August 1, 2024

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides research support including data collection, database management, statistical analysis, and the tabulation of analytical results.
2. Conducts data analysis on topics related to NSPARC funded research projects and projects under development for potential funding. This could involve the collection of data through surveys and focus groups and the tabulation and analysis of that data.
3. Participate in requirements gathering and policy analysis for funded research projects.
4. Drafts reports, policy briefs, and other materials related to funded research projects.
5. Prepares presentations and produces material appropriate for PowerPoint presentations.
6. Assists in project and program planning and scheduling activities related to funded research projects.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 1 year related to the duties and responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Experience working with data and writing research articles.
2. Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
3. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with a diverse group of individuals.
4. Basic computer skills required.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• No unusual physical requirements. Requires limited lifting of files and records and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
