CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
The Office of the University Registrar, as part of the Enrollment Management Team, manages information systems, maintains students’ academic records and provides educational support services for the University community.

Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Registrar, the Associate Registrar manages the transfer and test credit team, directs the process of transfer course evaluation and approval, collaborates with academic units, and provides guidance and structure to all aspects of the transfer and test credit process. Coordinates transfer and test credit processing to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the workflow from analysis to posting.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish policy and maintain standards for undergraduate transfer/test/other credit approval and evaluation. Establish and maintain an effective and consistent structure for policy implementation.
• Supervise staff in transcript review, interpretation, and posting of credit onto students’ records.
• Supervise staff in the review of course evaluations, updating of student records, and maintenance of the Transfer Matrix.
• Oversee application of existing systems for approval, evaluation, and posting of credit. Identify the need for new policies and processes and assist Senior Associate Registrar & Registrar in their development. Manage roll-out of process changes
• Build, run and maintain queries, Google Sheets and other new/existing systems connected to workflow and processing.
• Oversee audits of test and transfer credit syllabi to ensure equivalency accuracy.
• Advise Admissions & Athletics Offices on questions of eligible international credit for individual applicant athletes.
• Communicate regularly with assistant deans and academic departments to disseminate information and clarify policies. E-mail, phone, meet remotely or in-person to exchange information, help brainstorm on transfer-related issues, etc. Troubleshoot/negotiate optimal outcome of evaluation problems and errors in consultation with assistant deans and departments.
• Establish relationships with related campus units to increase mutual understanding and ensure consistent application of policies across campus.

• Conduct workshops on policies and practical procedures for departmental evaluators. Conduct presentations to students and parents at NSO/ISO (several half-day Saturday events per year). Give presentations to other campus groups on request (e.g., Transfer Student Association, World Scholars).
• Meet individually with students as needed to explain policies, verify accreditation of outside institutions for credit transfer, etc. Also respond to their individual phone and e-mail questions.
• Oversee update/maintenance of Registrar Office transfer credit-related web pages that provide information for students and academic units, including the current lists of departmental contacts, Matrix instructions, and the Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) and Transfer Institution/Program Approval (TIPA) forms.
• Research international institutions for study abroad programs to confirm if they meet UD policy, and how international credits/grades would transfer. Continue training on international credential evaluation as appropriate opportunities are available.
• Create and update process documentation as reference for Registrar’s Office.
• Keep abreast of best practices and emerging trends by attending conferences, consulting other professional resources, and monitoring practices at peer institutions.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree, and three years of progressively responsible job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing and working with a team.
• Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools required. Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration and Tableau highly desired.
• Possess the highest degree of integrity and maturity due to the sensitive, confidential nature of students' records.
• Possess strong organizational skills, able to work independently and collaboratively, effectively managing multiple projects, with the ability to analyze and solve problems in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent oral, written and customer service skills, and the ability to interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with transfer and test credit policy creation and interpretation strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of University of Delaware policies and procedures and campus facilities preferred.
• Ability to manage financial and human resources effectively.
• Demonstrated understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
