The College of Journalism and Communications graduate online programs (UF CJC Online) seeks an Academic Advisor II to join our team and provide support services for current and prospective online graduate students in the College of Journalism and Communications. UF CJC online serves over 700 online-only students and offers one MA degree with 7 concentrations and 4 graduate certificates. All operations for these programs (marketing, admissions, advising, etc..) are managed by our in-house staff. To learn more about UF CJC Online, visit: https://onlinemasters.jou.ufl.edu/ Reporting to the Assistant Director of UF CJC Online, the academic advisor serves as a primary support staff member for a complex academic program. The ideal candidate will be adept at simultaneously handling responsibilities from multiple areas including admissions, enrollment, advising, and administrative duties to support of the Assistant Director. Typical daily activities include emailing and speaking on the phone with students, resolving student issues, coordinating class schedules, updating student files, creating reports and more. This position collaborates daily with one other student advisor, our admissions officer and faculty coordinator. This is an in-person/on-campus position located in Gainesville, FL. We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement (3 days on campus and 2 days remote). This arrangement may change in the future at the discretion of college leadership. Work hours are 8:00am-4:30pm daily. A successful candidate will be a quick learner, have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Additionally, desirable candidates will provide evidence of collegiality, organizational skills, and commitment to service. Knowledge of the UF student records systems and Salesforce is a plus. Candidates must be able to take ownership of their work and operate in an independent/self-directed manner. Key Duties:

Minimum Requirements: | Master’s degree in education, counseling, or academic field related to the college and one year of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree in similar fields with two years of relevant experience. |
