The University of Florida has an opening for the faculty position of Clinical Veterinarian at the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, Florida The successful candidate will provide on-site clinical veterinary services in support of the researchers at the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, Florida (primary) while also working remotely with the Animal Care Program at the University of Florida Gainesville Campus (secondary). Occasional travel to the UF Gainesville campus may be required. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position reporting directly to the UF Attending Veterinarian and indirectly to the UF Scripps CFO. The Clinical Veterinarian will provide high quality veterinary care to laboratory animal species housed on the UF Scripps campus, with an emphasis on rodents. Additionally, the Clinical Veterinarian will contribute to the development and improvement of policies and procedures pertaining to the program, work collaboratively with the UF Scripps IACUC by participating in inspections, reviewing IACUC protocols and serving as a member of the UF Scripps IACUC, and provide advice and consultation on federal, state and local rules and regulations pertaining to animal use. Remote work with the Gainesville campus will include participation on the Animal Care Services clinical team and support with the UF Gainesville IACUC. |
