Job Description:

The Dean of Students’ Office is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Marketing Communication Student Assistant to support our team in Outreach and Education activities. As a Communication Student Assistant, you will collaborate with the staff from Campus Assistance and Resources for Empowerment (CARE), Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (SCCR), Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry, Collegiate Veterans Success Center, and the overall DSO to help increase the visibility of the programs and services offered, assisting in organizing events, and other duties as assigned. This role requires someone with strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and persuasive marketing content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with DSO Staff to plan and execute outreach strategies to connect with target audience. This may include email campaigns, social media outreach, PowerPoint presentations, and other creative methods to engage potential attendees, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in creating compelling and persuasive marketing content for outreach efforts, including email templates and promotional materials.
  • Support event promotion efforts through various channels, including social media, newsletters, flyers, and other marketing channels. Help drive attendance and engagement for events.
  • Aid in the planning and organization of events, workshops, webinars, and other marketing initiatives. Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Assist in responding to inquiries and questions from potential event attendees or partners promptly. Maintain clear and professional communication with stakeholders throughout the outreach and event planning process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

$11.00/hr

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum of 2.0 Grade Point Average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 10 hours per week.

  • Must be enrolled at least part-time as an undergraduate or graduate student in the Fall & Spring terms.
  • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average.
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University with no repeated violations of the University Code of Student Conduct.
  • Demonstrated previous experience utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud Software and Microsoft Office Suites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have an interest in building positive relationships with people that make up the department and the UF community.
  • Possess solid editing skills and the ability to craft and maintain a consistent voice and tone with imagery.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and an eye for detail and accuracy.
