Job Description:

Provides career planning services to University of Florida students within assigned cohorts. Facilitates individual career planning appointments, drop-in services, and small group coaching to assigned cohorts of University of Florida undergraduate students focused on strategies for career exploration, student success, and career readiness. Provides proactive and intrusive career planning services based on student needs. Facilitates career education workshops, large group programs, and outreach to University of Florida students within assigned cohorts.

Collaborates with campus partners and units including academic advising, academic support, and Division of Student Life to provide wrap-around support and campus resource navigation for students related to career readiness and student success. Creates resources, programs, and educational tools to connect students to student success campus partners. Provides purposeful communication to students, intentional follow-ups, and tracking to ensure comprehensive student support.

Designs scalable resources and leverages technology tools to provide comprehensive career readiness information and communication to students (i.e. Canvas). Engages campus partners (i.e. alumni, staff, faculty, employers, families, student organizations) to facilitate programs and services to connect students to career readiness and student success initiatives. Implements elements of the career readiness, student success, and career development theory to all workshops and programs.

Aids in maintaining quantitative and qualitative records for various types of interactions for assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact. Responsible for tracking and reporting of student engagement activities related to persistence, retention, student success, career readiness, and post-graduation outcomes. Participates in collaborative meetings to discuss student goals and follow-up needed based on assessment and reporting data.

Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor and higher authorities in the department and division. Lives out the career center’s values in all aspects of their job functions.

Expected Salary:

50,000

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree in an appropriate area or a bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience

Training: Certified Career Services Practitioner (CCSP) to be obtained within the first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, student personnel, or human resources (HR)

EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in career development, education, career coaching, HR, stakeholder engagement, marketing.


-Experience working with a range of different perspectives and viewpoints.

  • Experience with presenting and facilitating large groups.

    KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of career development, employment trends, student development, career services, career coaching, and outreach strategies

    - Facilitative skills - Interpersonal skills
    - Good presentations skills, listening skills, helping skills, relationship management, and program development

    ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
