Job Description: |
Assists the Assistant Director for Testing Services in managing accommodated exams at the Disability Resource Center. Coordinates exam schedules and room assignments for accommodated testing. Mitigates student testing concerns in the absence of the Assistant Director for Testing Services. Assists students, faculty and staff in trouble shooting issues that arise with the testing management system. Responds to testing inquiries and including answering phone calls, emails, an in-person questions regarding testing services. Prepares exam materials according to student accommodations and instructor directions. Creates alternative exam formats for students as needed per accommodations. Ensures receipt of exam materials to faculty members. Scans and prepares exams to exit the DRC and returns to instructors in a timely manner. Ensures all utilized testing spaces are closed each night and put back together ready for operations for the next business day. Assists the Assistant Director for Testing Services with interviewing, hiring, training and development of testing student assistants. Serves as an accommodated testing resource for students, faculty, staff, and service agencies/provider. Assists the DRC with assistive technology accommodation requests during peak times in the semesters. This would include alternate format textbooks, Kurzweil, Live Scribe Pen requests, etc. Maintains a current knowledge base of federal and state laws, regulations and rules governing the provision of services for persons with documented disabilities and their application within a post-secondary educational setting. Pursues self-directed learning on national trends and best practices in accessibility and accommodated testing. Serves on departmental committees, task force. Other duties as assigned. |
Salary: | $40,000 |
Minimum Requirements: |
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience |
Preferred Qualifications: |
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of expertise (such as education, business, or psychology) with at least two or more years of related and practical experience. Proficient in use of a Windows-based computer and Microsoft Office. |
