Job Description: |
This position is located in the Upward Bound Math and Science Program, which is housed within the Center for Precollegiate Education and Training. It is a part of the federally funded TRIO programs, whose purpose is to prepare low-income and first-generation college bound students for success in higher education. The goal of Upward Bound Math and Science is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourage them to pursue postsecondary degrees in those subjects. The Academic Program Specialist II provides individual and group advising on educational, career, and life skills and other related services for participants. Presentations, information booths, and workshops will be given to school personnel, students, and parents within targeted communities established by the Upward Bound Math & Science grant proposal guidelines. This position reports to the Program Director of Upward Bound Math & Science. |
Expected Salary: |
$50,000 - $55,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
