Finance Implementation Team Lead

Job Description:

This position acts as a lead for Research in the Finance Implementation Team, providing support for finance segments integral to central post-award and departmental research administrative functions based on need throughout the Workday implementation. The Team Lead collaborates with process stakeholders and other impacted parties to identify and develop optimal finance workflows and manages team progress. Leverages subject matter expertise and campus expertise to ensure shared governance of potential solutions.

Facilitates sessions surrounding current and proposed processes to ensure engagement with functional owners, subject matter experts, and end-user representatives. Works closely with other workstream leads and business partners to understand business processes, goals, and gaps. Assesses current financial policies and procedures and, from that, recommends the ideal workflow to be used with the new system.

Learns key software capabilities and how they can be applied to their area and provides input into the design of business solutions. Assist with testing, development, and implementation of end-user training.
Develops and tracks project requirements, project phasing, and schedule for relevant areas to ensure tasks and deliverables are completed timely. Assists with problem-solving to overcome obstacles encountered by the team and elevates issues to the project manager when necessary. Regularly communicates project status to project manager and Empowering UF team.

Expected Salary:

$85,000-$95,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience implementing and configuring a large-scale ERP, including setup and maintenance of financial structures, chart of accounts, and accounting rules strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of research administration (e.g., post-award, clinical) and application of federal and non-federal sponsor regulations on award management, accounting, and financial processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through issues and provide alternate, well-defined solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Acts as a change agent to identify and champion process improvement
